Vocal Explorer, inspiring teacher, a cappella traveller and beatbox gypsy – Tobias Hug has been singing & teaching for more than 20 years. He is deeply involved in the global cappella, choral music and beatbox scene, a connecting figure and one of the most sought-after educators ,coaches and adjudicators worldwide with regular work from Singapore to Norway, from Paraguay to the Philippines, from Festivals like VocalAsia to Glastonbury. With Grammy-Award Winning legends The Swingles he toured and recorded for 11 years as bass & beatboxer with countless TV, Radio & Commercial Appearances to his name. As their Artistic Director, he was one of the first to connect the worlds of beatbox & a cappella, working with beatboxer Shlomo. Other Collaborations include Jamie Cullum, Labrinth & Bobby McFerrin. Soundtrack credits include The Hobbit, Monty Python and World of Warcraft.
He is co-founder and is (or was) Artistic Director of many a cappella festivals (Vocalmente (IT), A CAPE’lla (LUX), London A Cappella Festival) as well as the Eruopean Voices Association (EVA) and the first A Cappella Loop Station Competition Vocaloops.
